I bought a GE dishwasher (model GDF535PSRSS) from Best Buy and the experience has been nothing but frustrating. First, the unit came without essential installation parts. No power cord, no water hookup hose, no fittings—nothing that allows you to actually install and use the machine. Why these basics aren’t included is beyond me. It is ridiculous to expect customers to know which random parts they have to hunt down after the fact, especially when the store does not make that clear at purchase.
On top of that, when we picked it up and got it home, a bunch of water came pouring out of the dishwasher when we took it out of our car, suggesting it had already been used or tested and was not new as expected. To make matters worse, the black bottom panel was scratched and damaged right out of the box.
This whole thing feels like we paid full price for an incomplete and possibly returned appliance, with no heads-up and no help in getting what we actually need. A dishwasher should come ready to install or at least include a clear list of what is missing.
If I had known how much extra time, effort, and money would be needed just to get this thing working, I would not have bought it. Very disappointed.

Hi, Fiona,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with the quality of your new in box GE Dishwasher. I can understand that not having information on the parts needed for an installation can be difficult. We offer an installation kit that provides things like a power cord (if needed) as some units and homes may have hardwired connection options, a fill hose which is recommended, but an old hose can be used, and most dishwashers can have water inside them as they are tested randomly and come from the manufacturer this way. I spend thousands and thousands of dollars at this store every year. I bought a vacuum that cost almost $600. I paid over 100 for the five-year warranty. Within a month the wand to the vacuum broke because I’m a single father and a business owner. I did not have time to bring it in. Anyway, I finally bring it in and it’s two days past the 60 days The manager refuses To offer any assistance. They said they would replace it, but I was getting Burned on my warranty that I paid over $100 for All because of a faulty product. I’ve been in Best Buy total member for many years and I am very disappointed with this location. This place really values it customers.
