I've been a loyal Best Buy customer for over 20 years, but this particular location gave me the worst experience I've ever had with the company. I came in to purchase a camera and had to wait over 30 minutes just to get help. Eventually, I spoke with the assistant manager (JD), who pitched me a deal: if I opened a Best Buy credit card, I'd receive 18 months of financing and 15% cashback. It sounded like a great offer -- good enough that I decided to also buy a laptop I had been considering. The next day, a friend told me that the promotion doesn't work that way -- it's either financing or cashback, not both. I did my own research, called Best Buy, and confirmed that the offer was misrepresented. Customer service told me I'd have to go back to the store to resolve it. When I did, I was basically told it was my fault for misunderstanding, and JD denied ever saying what he said. When I came in to confront him about it, he had a very rude and snarky attitude. No accountability. No solution. Just denial and deflection. This felt like a bait-and-switch to get me to sign up for a store credit card under false information. You should probably treat your customers better after they decide to choose you guys over microcenter or any other store, especially after they just spent over $3000 in store. Whether it was a misunderstanding or intentional, it's unacceptable -- especially coming from management. I'm sharing this so others don't fall for the same thing. Double-check the terms yourself and don't rely on what you're told in-store.
