General review of Best Buy and BestBuy.com
I checked the website for an item and saw it was listed as "available now, in store only." I called the store-specific number to check quantity available--I was in luck! Eight were available! So I drove 30 minutes to the store only to be told it wasn't available to purchase until tomorrow. Very unhappy with the situation. The store clerk was sincere and honest, as helpful as can be; I find no fault with him or the store in particular.
However, Best Buy's website was extremely misleading and caused me to waste a lot of time, energy, and fuel for nothing.
Best buy is still a good place to buy electronics, but service and selection seems to be an issue, especially with car audio. Geneva location is the only place that seems to do installs for car audio.
Great service from the tech center
Best Buy says they price match. I found a laptop being sold at Micro Center in Westmont for $500 less than Best Buy. Spoke with an manager at Best Buy. He confirmed it was the exact laptop but wouldn't price match because it was an "in-store only" price. I even showed the confirmation that I had already purchased from Micro Center and was just trying to save a trip out there. He still wouldn't price match. So the "in-store only" price was actually able to be purchased online and held for me. Just had to pick it up instead of it being shipped..... Ok. I'm not spending over $500 in fuel to travel to Westmont so I'll make the trip. Your loss Best Buy. Your price match policy is a joke and I believe Best Buy is a dying breed. Find your technology elsewhere.
