⭐ 1/5 — Extremely Disappointed With Best Buy Customer Service
I rarely leave reviews like this, but after nearly a month of getting the runaround from Best Buy, I feel other customers should know about my experience.
On July 14 and July 15, I made two large purchases from Best Buy totaling over $3,100, including an 85-inch LG TV and an LG sound system.
The problem started with one M5 speaker worth approximately $219. I contacted Best Buy because I wanted to receive the speaker sooner. Best Buy’s representative told me to cancel that speaker and reorder it to get it faster. I followed THEIR recommendation.
That’s where the nightmare started.
I waited for my $219 refund and it never came. Over the course of nearly a month, I contacted Best Buy multiple times and spoke with three different representatives. I was repeatedly told essentially the same thing: “Rest assured, your refund has been processed and you will receive it.”
So I waited. Still nothing.
Finally, the third representative told me the truth—the refund had NEVER actually been processed. After weeks of being told it was already done, I learned I had been waiting for a refund that apparently wasn’t even initiated.
She assured me she would process it.
I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND.
This isn’t about being impatient over $219. It’s about being repeatedly given incorrect information and having to spend my time chasing down money that should have been refunded in the first place—especially when Best Buy was the one that instructed me to cancel and reorder.
I spent more than $3,100 with this company within approximately one day, and Best Buy managed to lose my confidence as a customer over a $219 refund that should have been incredibly simple to resolve.
At this point, because of how poorly this has been handled, I want to return the entire purchase, including the TV and sound system, and take my business elsewhere.
Best Buy needs to seriously review how refunds and customer-service escalations are handled. Customers should not be told repeatedly that a refund has been processed when it hasn’t.
Three representatives. Nearly a month. Multiple assurances. Still no refund.
Completely unacceptable experience.

Ethan is so helpful and wonderful! I came in for a new laptop, because mine stopped working, and I was very upset. Ethan and some other gentlemen helped me score over various laptops and specs to find the one that will work best for me. They made the process of buying a new laptop a lot less painful than it had to be. Thank you, guys!
Bought a new counter depth fridge. The guy who helped us was very knowledgeable. We opened a best buy account and got a 185$ credit. Then bought a led face mask
On 7/24, I visited Best Buy to purchase a projector, projector screen, and surround sound system. I waited in the electronics area for assistance, and after several minutes with no acknowledgment, I began walking around to find someone who could help.
I noticed a Best Buy employee a red‑headed associate with glasses along with a Samsung representative assisting another customer. I continued waiting, but even as I stood nearby, I was not greeted or given a simple “I’ll be with you shortly.” After several more minutes, I politely stepped in and let them know I needed assistance.
Despite that, I still wasn’t helped right away. After what felt like another ten minutes, the Best Buy associate finally approached me, but his tone and demeanor were noticeably rude and dismissive. My wife immediately picked up on his attitude and walked away out of frustration.
When I began explaining what I was looking for, he interrupted me almost immediately to ask my budget. I told him I didn’t want to spend more than $5,000 on a projector, already knowing the model I intended to purchase was $2,799.99. Before I could finish explaining, he cut me off again and told me that he “builds theater rooms on the side,” and that unless I was prepared to spend $17–25K, anything I bought would “look like shit.”
I was shocked by how disrespectful and unprofessional this was. Not only was the statement completely inaccurate, but no employee should ever insult a customer’s budget or speak to them in such a condescending way. His behavior the lack of acknowledgment, the interruptions, the dismissive attitude, and the insulting comments made me feel disrespected and unwelcome.
I’ve spent a significant amount of money at Best Buy over the years and have never experienced anything like this. Whether he was making assumptions about me or simply didn’t want to help, the interaction was unacceptable. At this point, I do not feel comfortable returning to this store or continuing to spend my money here.
