On June 15, 2026, I visited the Best Buy store in Tinley Park, IL. Upon my arrival, a store representative inquired if I needed assistance. I informed him that I was there to purchase a Ring security system. He then arranged for an item representative to help me. However, the representative did not demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Ring products. Ultimately, I purchased the Ring floodlight with installation, along with a Ring doorbell and door sensors, both also with installation. The installation process should have proceeded smoothly; however, on the day of the installers' arrival, I was informed that the door sensors could not be installed because the entire system was required for their operation. I had previously received incorrect information in-store regarding this matter. This error incurred a $129.99 installation fee, which was later refunded. Each sensor costs $19.99, totaling $59.97 for three units, which I attempted to return. Unfortunately, the clerk informed me they were still in transit due to delays from the warehouse. Additionally, I was sold a floodlight that lacked the necessary plug-in mount for installation. Although the installer had a compatible mount available on their truck, I was charged an additional $200 installation fee on top of the initial $169 fee charged by Best at checkout. This has been an extremely disappointing experience overall, primarily stemming from a lack of knowledgeable staff regarding Ring products in-store. As it stands, I am at a loss of $259.97 with no resolution in sight.

We took our laptop in to Geek Squad because it wasn't charging. We were called and told to come and pick it up. At pickup, we were told it needed a new battery. We were billed $160, which we paid. After looking closer at the invoice we see we were charged for battery replacement. We get home and call the geek squad and ask about the charge. We were told that we should not have been charged for that. And if we brought them a new battery, they would install it. And we did. After Geek Squad installed the battery we were called and told that the charger port was broken and the laptop would not charge. We were told if we order a new charger port and bring it to them. They would install it for $60. My question was how was this not discovered when the laptop was brought in and was the battery actually bad? They couldn't answer that question. I ordered a new charger port and had it repaired somewhere else.
