My mother and I don't necessarily have similar tastes, especially in electronics, but we both appreciate value, good service and clear, easy to understand explanations. That's what Best Buy provides as its signature service.
We really appreciated the low-key sales approach of the staff and the clear, concise guidance of the Geek Squad. My mother was also impressed by the sheer variety of electronic products available.
Pro Tip
In true "Miracle on 34th Street" style, when I requested something that Best Buy did not carry, the staff member recommended a competitor who did have that item (and even raved about the quality of said competitor). That worked in black and white movies for Macy's Santa Claus and it still works well today.
