Just found out they apparently fired their only competent Geek Squad employee, probably so they could hire some teenager who'd work for minimum wage. She was my go-to person for YEARS for anything I couldn't fix myself. Now I don't know where in town I'm going to go, but I do know where I'm never going again. Just a truly stupid, stupid move Best Buy. You should be begging for employees like that.

BEWARE THE PROTECTION PLANS I was told explicitly by more than one staff person, on more than one occasion, that the Protection Plan would cover accidental damage to the TV I bought. I was told this at the point of purchase, and when I visited the store after my TV fell over (the plastic legs for the base are flimsy)….and given the Geek Squad # to call. The rep I spoke with understood that I had been told such damage was covered, and approved a work order number and contact for their exchange program. When I contacted the exchange program, the rep was very curt and dismissive, and tried to accuse me of lying or changing my story bc *she* misunderstood something I said…even though I cautioned that I have some brain damage from COVID which causes speech problems and asked her to be patient. She said the damage wasn’t covered and that she would report the worker who approved the exchange. There are a variety of solutions I was open to, but the only solution I was offered was essentially, “You were lied to, oh well.” No accountability for employees being trained to be deceptive to sell Protection Plans, and punishment for the employee that tried to make it right.

I came in to trade in my old phone with my Verizon carrier in November. Your Verizon representative was extremely unpleasant, made the entire interaction uncomfortable, and is causing this entire trade-in to be the biggest headache. When I went in he got me the phone I asked about, did not try to talk me through my options or be of any help. We go through upgrading my plan to be able to do the trade in. I'm given my new phone and sent on my way. The next week when I try to give my old phone back at my verizon store they say that they have no record of the deal or anything. I have to go back into your store to figure out what I'm supposed to do, explain all of this to the same guy and his coworker goes, "wow that's the second one for you today." He then proceeds to tell me to take a picture of the promotion paper and show it to the people at the verizon store. It is now the end of January and I am still trying to get this promotion applied because he somehow forgot to do his job.
