Geek Squad solved by problem quickly and simply. I was happy.
Open box deals are always worth checking out
I went into the store to 100% buy an affordable laptop, mine is old and I don’t use it often so I just wanted basics to access some sites that require newer certificates on the browser. I let the employees know this and I was excited to get something new! The employees talked on and on about how shitty the affordable options were, however they were “affordable for a reason” and brought up that the more expensive ones along with the Best Buy credit card I could open to make payments on a more expensive laptop. I already told them what I needed it for and said my budget was very low and they talked so poorly about the lower cost laptops that it made me feel less exited to even buy something so inadequate and like it was a poor decision to spend any money on a shitty product. I don’t use a computer often so I decided instead of wasting money on a shitty computer I’d just go without. I feel there is a middle ground when talking about the computers sold in store, people shouldn’t have to feel like their only options are terribly performing computers and the most expensive ones on the market. People who can’t afford expensive laptops (esp with how the economy is right now) shouldn’t be made to feel like what they CAN buy is the lowest of the low when the start price is hundreds of dollars in a world that demands computers. All the employees were very nice, the store was clean and had plenty of great products! I just think they need to consider how they talk about some products knowing that is some folks only option
Shoutout to Jude and Cody. They went above and beyond to help me with an iPad screen protector installation issue that was more difficult than it needed to be. Your efforts are appreciated.
