When buying audiophile equipment, the Magnolia Center at Best Buy is the only place in KC to go. Great audition setup and they even negotiated a better price for me!
They're were nice and helped me.

I had an extremely upsetting experience at Metcalf &119th st Best Buy , and I feel it’s important to share this so other customers are aware.
I purchased a VR headset from this Best Buy yesterday. Today, I gave it as a gift to my friend. When they opened it, we immediately noticed that the product was not working. We went back to the same store where it was purchased, expecting basic customer support and professionalism.
Instead, we were treated very poorly. The staff were careless, rude, and made serious accusations, blaming us for product swapping or fraud without any proof. We calmly asked them to check their CCTV footage to confirm that the product was returned exactly as purchased, but they refused to help and continued blaming us.
The manager’s behavior was especially disappointing. Rather than handling the situation professionally, he accused us, made us wait for 20 minutes for no reason, and then told us to leave the store or he would call the police. This was humiliating, stressful, and completely unnecessary. The way we were treated felt discriminatory and racist, and no customer should ever experience this kind of treatment—especially when they have done nothing wrong.
Feeling extremely upset, we decided to visit another Best Buy location instead. The difference was night and day. The staff at the second store were kind, respectful, and professional. They actually checked the product properly and immediately confirmed that we were genuine and that the issue was real. They handled the situation the way customer service is supposed to be handled.
This experience shows a huge inconsistency between Best Buy locations. One store treated us like criminals, while another treated us like valued customers.
I strongly recommend that Best Buy investigate the behavior of the staff and management at the first store, because accusing customers without evidence, refusing to help, and threatening police action is completely unacceptable. Customers deserve respect, fairness, and professionalism.
