I’m genuinely puzzled how Best Buy is still in business. It’s like walking into a tech-themed purgatory where no one knows anything, but everyone looks busy avoiding you. I went in to get an SD memory card for my new drone, blissfully unaware of the intricate tech specs involved. No problem, I thought, surely a tech store would have someone who could help, right? WRONG.
First, I checked the DJI website to see which SD cards they recommend. Of course, none of those were in stock. So, I needed guidance to find a substitute. That’s when I noticed something strange—every employee seemed to have developed the same peculiar ability: making eye contact with anything except customers. It’s like they’ve been trained in the ancient art of pretend-they-don’t-see-you.
I decided to conduct a little experiment. I spotted an employee heading in my general direction (but clearly not toward me). I locked eyes with her and said nothing, curious if she’d break the silence with a “Can I help you?” Nope. She just breezed past like she was on a secret mission. Spoiler: I doubt she was.
Eventually, I gave up and flagged someone down. He seemed genuinely surprised I expected him to know anything about SD cards. After a brief awkward pause, he pointed to the shelf and said, “Whatever we have is over there.” Insightful. Thanks, Chad. Meanwhile, in the distance, I spotted a couple of employees chilling and laughing like it was recess at a middle school.
If the point of Best Buy is to make you feel nostalgic for the days when shopping meant actual human assistance, mission accomplished. Otherwise, I have no idea why this place exists. Next time, I’ll just order online and save myself the existential crisis.

Love how they bring items to your car
Geek squad is awesome.They installed my remote start from my car and one wasn't working. Brought it back and they fixed it. No charge.

I live 18 miles away from Best Buy Braintree. I called the Geek Squad in Braintree in advance to get a quote on a screen repair before I made the trek to the store. They gave me a quote and I was comfortable with the price range for the repair so I scheduled an appointment to bring my laptop in. When I arrived for my appointment I was told it was going to be twice the amount of what I was quoted. Needless to say I walked out without having the work done and I am very disappointed in how this process went. If Best Buy is going to give out a quote they should honor it.
