I now remember exactly WHY I STOPPED SHOPPING AT BEST BUY. This experience has been incredibly frustrating, upsetting, and completely unacceptable.
I originally had an appliance delivery scheduled for August 28. I called Best Buy on August 24 because I urgently needed my microwave sooner since it is required before my countertops can be installed. I simply asked whether the microwave could be delivered earlier or if I could pick it up myself.
I spoke with Isaiah, who was actually very nice over the phone. However, it became clear that he did not fully understand what the Best Buy system was showing or what effect the change would have on the rest of my order. Isaiah told me I could pick up the microwave that same day at the South Bay location, while the rest of my items would still be delivered later. I trusted what he told me and agreed to the change.
That decision turned my entire order into a disaster.
I was then told that the remaining items could be delayed until October. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager because I expected the manager to correct the mistake and help fix the situation.
Instead, Manager Gristado did the complete opposite.
Rather than acknowledging that I had relied on incorrect information from a Best Buy employee, he repeatedly made it seem as though this was somehow my problem because “I changed the order.” His attitude came across as essentially, “oh well, there is nothing I can do.”
I then had to repeatedly ask him whether I could pick up the microwave at another Best Buy location. I asked him to call another store or see if there was any other option available. He told me that he did not have the ability to call and that he could only go by what the system showed.
That response was incredibly frustrating. I was the customer dealing with a problem created by Best Buy, yet I was the one having to repeatedly suggest possible solutions while the manager simply told me what he could not do.
I DO NOT WORK FOR BEST BUY. I DO NOT KNOW HOW BEST BUY’S INTERNAL SYSTEM WORKS. I called, explained exactly what I needed, and relied on a Best Buy employee to tell me what could safely be changed. I only agreed to the change because Isaiah specifically told me I could pick up my microwave that day.
Had I been properly informed that making this change could delay my delivery, disrupt the rest of my order, or result in me NOT being able to pick up the microwave at all, I NEVER would have agreed to it.
Instead, I ended up in a worse situation than before I called. I could no longer pick up the microwave, and my delivery was pushed to August 29.
I asked Manager Gristado if he could get my order to me sooner. He said he submitted an expediting request, but then told me there was essentially nothing else he could do.
What I expected from a manager was accountability, problem-solving, and an effort to correct misinformation given by an employee. Instead, I felt like I was speaking to someone who was simply reading what the computer said and repeatedly telling me there was nothing he could do.
This is not just a minor inconvenience. My microwave is tied directly to my countertop installation, so this mistake affects my renovation schedule, contractors, and potentially costs me additional time and money.
The biggest issue here is the lack of accountability. Isaiah was pleasant, but clearly gave me information that was not accurate. I understand that mistakes happen. What I cannot understand is a manager refusing to take ownership of that mistake, making little effort to find another solution, and then painting the customer as the problem.
I now remember exactly why I stopped shopping at Best Buy before. This is the same type of customer service experience that made me leave in the first place.
After this experience, I will permanently take my business elsewhere and will not shop at Best Buy again. I did write to GM, but I am sure nothing will come out that because Best Buy has the worst customer service. Never again!

With approximately 5 minutes to closing, the staff was kind enough to let me in to shop. After spending time searching for a particular item, an employee was still willing to assist me with finding the product and a few other items. Thanks for not just saying that the store was closed and dismissing me.
Completely unreliable.
1. Ordered 2 items. System shows it would be delivered the next day.
2. 5am the next day, I get en email saying it delayed.
3. I cancel my order. Only one one item is cancelled.
4. Now the second items shows that it is a DOORDASH delivery 15 days into the future. Cannot cancel. Cannot change.
5. Went into physical store. Completely useless. Can’t refund me because I do t have the items. Apparently the item is getting delivered by DoorDash from NJ to MA. Not sure what the plan is and why it would take 15 days. Perhaps walking it over.
6. Next day I get a message that my item is delivered. Of course they delivered after business hours and left it outside which will all likelihood be lost.
7. Texted the delivery guy instructing him not to leave the package. No reponse.
Complete garbage. Use Amazon and save yourself the hassle.
