I stopped by Best Buy today to buy a floor fan. It's not an expensive item, but I wanted to know one simple thing before buying it: how does it actually work?
I asked if they could open the box so I could hear how loud it was and see how strong the airflow was. The answer was, "We can't open the box."
So how is a customer supposed to make an informed purchase? A fan isn't something you can judge by looking at a picture on the box. Noise level and airflow are exactly what matter.
If stores can't open a box, they should at least have a display model available for customers to try. Otherwise, you're asking people to buy blindly.
Really disappointing customer service.

Randy was amazing. He shepherded us through the process of choosing the right television and sound bar.
Upon picking up the television, Trolling Tim stopped in to resell me a much more expensive unit and was somewhat disparaging to the unit I picked up. I actually told him that his name tag should read "Un-Sales Associate".
