I’ve been a Best Buy customer since 1997 and genuinely wanted to support them instead of automatically buying everything online. Unfortunately, that ended today over an inexpensive $99 item that was completely unopened and still in its original packaging.
I tried to return it within 30 days and learned Best Buy now has an incredibly restrictive 15-day return policy. What really bothered me was being told they would accept the return if I paid $30 for a membership. So they could take back the unopened item, they just wanted more money from me first.
It’s honestly sad to see a company I’ve supported for nearly 30 years become this customer-unfriendly. Retailers like B&H and Adorama offer reasonable 30-day return policies without requiring a paid membership, and offer knowledgeable product support that you may struggle to receive at a store like Best Buy. The Millbury staff chose a $30 upsell over the goodwill of a longtime customer, so I closed my account and will spend my money elsewhere. Not an empty threat, I just won't give them another dollar.
If you shop here, be very aware of the 15-day return policy. I certainly wasn’t.

Njonjo at Geek Squad was very helpful and kind to me today. I really appreciated his help and wanted to say thank you. I’m very happy with the service I received and just wanted to show my appreciation!
The store has everything that you are looking for, including The Geek Squad, where I encountered a long line
I went to best buy looking for a new printer. I went to the register in that department and asked a gentlemen named Charles to help me with a few questions I had about the printers. What a refreshing customer service experience. Charles was so helpful, pleasant and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better customer service experience. Charles went above and beyond. He infomed me of everything about the printer and answered all of my questions with such a pleasant friendly manner. Thank you for your help with my purchase today.
