I have been a regular Best Buy customer for years, but this experience was honestly ridiculous. I placed an online order for pickup and added an authorized pickup person exactly the way the website allows you to do. When that person went to pick up the order, the store refused to release it and asked for my ID instead. What is the point of giving customers an option to add a pickup person if the store is not going to honor it?
I called to get help, and that was even more frustrating. You cannot reach the actual Salisbury store. The call goes to a call center where the representative has no real knowledge of the store, the pickup process, or how to solve the problem. I spoke with someone named Alexander and explained the issue more than once. He still had no idea what to do. Then he said he would speak with the store. When I asked him to transfer me directly to the store, he claimed he was from that location. I asked him what state the store was in, and he could not even answer.
That tells me everything I needed to know. Best Buy has a system that does not work, a phone line that does not connect customers to the actual store, and customer service representatives who cannot handle a basic pickup issue. This should have taken two minutes. Instead, it wasted my time, wasted the pickup person’s time, and left me with no solution.
I canceled the order and bought the item somewhere else. Best Buy did not just lose one sale. They lost a regular customer because no one could properly handle a simple authorized pickup order.

Hello.
It is concerning to hear you had troubles with an order placed as well as not receiving the proper assistance when trying to get this resolved.

I just had my second bad experience with staff that are young white men. Last year at the Geek Squad counter and this time trying to buy a new cellphone. I am a middle aged lady and the men look at me like I am worthless. After about twenty minutes of asking for help and waiting I was finally helped at the cellphone desk. But even after he began helping me, he would stop and do other things. I tried to regain his attention, but he became anoyed with me. I will go to my cell phone carriers from now on to get cellphones.
