⭐ 1 Star (should be 0 if possible) I strongly urge shoppers to be cautious with this Best Buy location in Waldorf. I waited to post this review until a police investigation was completed. In December, I purchased an iPad in-store. During pickup, an employee encouraged me to apply for a Best Buy/Citi credit card, which I agreed to and completed on the spot. I then picked up my iPad and left. A few weeks later—while I was overseas—someone fraudulently used that same account to purchase a $1,300 MacBook and picked it up in person from this exact store. I immediately reported the issue to both Best Buy and my bank. At first, I assumed it was a typical scam, but what made this situation alarming is that the fraudulent purchase was picked up physically in-store under my name. When I returned to the U.S., I went back to the store and asked them to review their security footage to identify who picked up the item. The staff and store manager were unwilling to assist and simply told me to go to the police. I followed their advice and filed a report. After two months, the police were unable to obtain any footage from the store to verify who collected the MacBook. In the end, I lost my money and a significant amount of time trying to resolve this. What’s most disappointing is the complete lack of support from the store when something clearly went wrong within their own location. Based on my experience, once there’s an issue, you’re on your own. I recommend being very cautious when shopping here, especially when it comes to sharing personal or financial information.
