Great place. Knowledgeable people
I had an appointment to have the battery changed on my iPhone. When I arrived for my appointment I was told the machine to do the change was broken and they didn’t know when, or if, it would be fixed. The battery change was going to cost $89 and I thought that was reasonable. THEN I was told that they would probably break the screen when they opened it to change the battery and that was $389.00!! Payable in advance and they were not responsible for the damage! They could not tell me why I was not told the machine was broken or that I was going to be responsible for any damage they caused OR why they even made the appointment BEFORE I drove 2 hours for that appointment. NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!
This afternoon, we went to the Augusta, Maine, Best Buy store for assistance with a need to have a "smart watch" due to an ongoing medical problem. A young man named James M. showed up while we were looking at the watches and asked if he could help. I thought I would need to purchase a new watch even though I already had one, since a message suggested that it was outdated.
After spending time with James and a little research on his part, he was able to configure my existing watch so I would have what I needed, as recommended by my doctor.
Much to our amazement, we felt that the clock had been turned back to a time when people took the time to help customers in a friendly, professional fashion. We were very impressed with James's technical understanding, pleasant demeanor, and willingness to help us.
All in all, we walked away as happy customers, even though we hadn't bought anything today.
We'll be back and hope to run into James again.
It was once upon a time a busy, busy store. Not so much now.
