Knowledgeable staff in the computer hardware area. Store had what I wad looking fir and online inventory was accurate. Lots of parking.
Beware of the Geek Squad department. I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the Geek Squad manager Sam at the Bangor store.
I purchased a television from Best Buy with a protection plan that ended up needing repairs at the Bangor store an hour away from where I live. A Geek Squad manager who was rude and dismissive of my complaints since I had initially turned it in, loaded the TV into my car while I was securing my young daughter in her car seat. I appreciated the assistance at the time, but when I returned home and as I plugged in the television, I discovered that the power cord had been intentionally stripped with a razor blade, both the copper wires were exposed with black and white plastic mostly cut all the way through in multiple spots of the chord. After seeing it plugged into the wall my husband was in shock that I was not dead from electric shock and carefully unplugged it from the wall.
This was not shipping damage or an accident—it was a clean, deliberate cut that rendered the TV completely unusable and dangerous. The fact that this occurred while my attention was on ensuring my child’s safety makes the incident even more concerning.
This behavior is not only unprofessional but also deeply troubling and dangerous. I trusted an employee of Best Buy to assist me, and instead, I was left with a broken, dangerous product and the unsettling knowledge that the damage was intentional.
EDIT: I called Best Buy Customer Care and spoke with a manager about the situation. They were unable to provide any meaningful assistance and told me I would have to waste another two hours driving to Bangor and confront the very manager who intentionally slit the electrical chord for help. As if I would ever feel safe there again.

Best buy sucks now. You can no longer call your local stores. Instead they have a national answering service. Then you get someone who can't even speak English or you can't understand them!

Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I understand not being able to reach your local store by phone, isn't expected.
As an effort to allow our store employees to focus on their customers in their stores. Our phone support teams should be able to assist with questions or issues that you may have.
That said, I'd like to have our corporate team review this with you further. Feel free to send a private message on one of our social media platforms, Facebook (https://bby.me/6stdlr), Twitter/X (https://bby.me/4wx2rd), or Instagram (https://bby.me/s3t9wo).
