Let me start by qualifying who I am. I am an Airline Transport Pilot (type Rated Jet Pilot) / Certified Flight Instructor (Gold Seal) / Instrument Flight Instructor / Multi-Engine Instructor / Remote Pilot (drone pilot). So, I know a few things about aircraft, including drones. I wanted to talk to someone in Best Buy about drones. There are a lot of people that have no idea what the limitations and restrictions are of drone flying. This poses a huge problem in the manned aircraft world, and will ultimately further restrict UAS flight (drones). It is important that people selling drones offer correct information. I was supper shocked when I heard what the Best Buy associate had to say, SUPPER shocked. Not one thing he said was true. Here are some examples. He said the camera was so good you do not have to have line of sight so long as you were on private property. NOT TRUE. He said you only need a license if you want to fly high. I even lead him a bit and asked if I could sell wedding videos. He said yes, no problem, no license needed. COMPLETELY FALSE!! I asked a lot of other questions, but he failed to get ANY of them correct. SO,, this is why people are flying drones where they should not be, and making it hard for us who follow the laws and regulations. I really wish he would have said "I don't know" I can respect that.
