I’m coming to a point of almost hatred for this company.
Not only does their total membership fall short of being worth anything. (speaking from painful experience.)
But now you can’t get a person when you call them on the phone. I have something that’s more complicated than what some stupid AI bot can answer. I am not renewing my membership and I will not be buying anything else from Best Buy for the rest of my stinking life. I’m going to Costco for my electronic needs. And if they don’t have it, then I’m going to Amazon. This company can die the slow death of the American retailer because they took the lazy route of giving us poor customer service and artificial intelligent answering service
Poor Customer Service skills and/or accommodations.
I recently bought a pair of open boxed Bose QuietComfort ultra headphones for $246.99. The sale on new ones is $269.99. I drove to Best Buy from Grand Haven, only to get home and find out the left speaker has a nonstop clicking noise. I drove back to Best Buy in Norton Shores to exchange them. They wanted me to pay the difference. I explained I do Customer Service for a living and the right thing to do, considering my time and gas to have to return, would to doing an even swap. They said no. I explained that it was their lack of QC of checking to see that the headphones actually worked properly before reselling them as open boxed caused this issue. They did not care and the kid had an attitude about it. I will not be shopping at this Best Buy and probably not any other Best Buy going forward given their stance of “You bought open boxed and assumed the risk it didn’t work properly.” I can see why Best Buy is struggling as a business to keep their brick and mortar stores open.
