In 2017 I bought a Whirlpool kitchen appliance package, including installation, from the Eagan, MN Best Buy store. One of my early on issues was the poor venting of the microwave that was mounted over the electric range. I just figured that microwaves just had a poor fan exhaust sysyem. NOPE, turns out the installers skipped several steps that I discovered when installing a new replacement microwave. The replacement was a matching Whirlpool model with exact dimensions, exact template layout for placement of cut outs for hvac vent, cord, and mounting bolts. The wall mounting bracket was secured to only one stud, instead of securing to the second available stud the "professional" installers used a drywall anchor.The "professional" installers did not follow the template. No hole was drilled for cord, they decided to feed the cord up through the off center cut out they made for the vent. They must have eyeballed position for the two holes for the mounting bolts but since not in exact position had to widen them out so much that the large washers BARELY support the bolt against the cabinet floor. Because the vent opening was not centered nor cut out to correct specs the microwave flapper when fan was on could barely open, thus the poor venting from cooktop. They also did not secure the flapper with the two metal screws provided, instead taped flapper in place before lifting microwave into place and not bothering to check alignment, secure flapper with screws. Finally, they did not remove the charcoal filter. Honestly I was unaware of it until I read online to do so when i was learning how to install the new microwave. Waste of money and bad taste regarding Best But after spending several thousands of dollars on the kitchen appliace package.
