I had a very disappointing experience with Best Buy regarding the use of my certificates. Due to technical issues with their system, I was unable to apply them to my purchase. When I contacted support, the agent escalated the issue to a supervisor who assured me that once I placed a new order, they would refund the certificates. I was given both a reference number and an email confirmation that this would be honored.
However, when I placed the new order and provided the reference number, the next agent acknowledged the documentation but outright refused to process the refund or reissue the certificates. This was after their own supervisor had guaranteed it.
What’s most concerning is not the money itself, but the complete lack of accountability and consistency in their process. If customers cannot rely on written confirmation, reference numbers, and supervisor assurances, then what trust can they place in the company’s systems or promises? As a Plus member, I expected better transparency and integrity. Instead, I feel misled, ignored, and deeply frustrated.
It’s unacceptable for a company of Best Buy’s size to operate with such unreliable processes. Experiences like this erode customer confidence and make members question whether loyalty programs or customer guarantees mean anything at all. I regret being a Best Buy Plus member and will reconsider future purchases with them.
They said the phone i wanted to buy was not on display, but in the warehouse. They would only show it if I was sure to buy it.
Long story short, I did not buy anything.

I buy a $1700 phone here, Pay $200 for warranty all cash. I have something go wrong with my phone, And they don’t have my phone in stock so they can’t replace it or fix it. So they refund me, On a Best Buy gift card. Then I try to buy a new phone and they don’t have any of the phones that I was interested in available. I went straight to Apple and bought a new iPhone with cash. Now I have a worthless Best Buy gift card. I hope you enjoyed keeping my money, Because it was the last penny, you’ll ever get from me, And I’m sharing this situation with every single person I can in the hopes to avoid anyone else getting screwed Over. I guarantee you’ll lose a lot more than $2000 off of this transaction.
