Staff weren’t the friendliest, but did successfully transfer my data to a new hard drive. Low score is because they had my computer ready for 4 days but sent the notification to the wrong email and didn’t try to follow up any other way after assuring me at drop-off that I would receive a text and/or phone call when it was ready. I was also not given a choice about purchasing their full-year long protection plan, which is $179. I was simply told it was part of the service and only later was able to see it should have been optional.
Dan advised me to get the membership to save some money instead of just paying for the Windows installation. I followed his advice, but a few days later, when I went to pick up my laptop, they told me they couldn’t install Windows because my hard drive needed to be replaced — which didn’t make sense since it was working fine for me. When I asked for a refund of the membership fee, they said they could process it but would charge me over $200 just for checking whether they could install Windows or not. It was a really disappointing experience, and I feel like I was scammed.
