Didn't have something it said they had online
I am regular customer and have spent thousands at Best Buy. I also have the total care plan.So when my HDMI port on my Xbox stopped working first place I thought of was Best Buy. My first issue was with their AI operator who after 5 minutes of prompts told me they did not work on Xboxes and hung up. I called back and just asking for customer service and after 5 or 6 tries got thru to a human being who informed me that they do work on xbox but they had to send them off. So I took up to my Best Buy 5 minutes from my house. I was told they would send it off and someone would call me with a cost estimate for the repair.1 week went by and I had not heard from them so drove back to the store where Tony the GM helped me. He looked it up and said they had received it and the reason why they had not called is because I had the Total Protection plan and my cost was probably covered. I waited another week and did not receive a call, text or email.Drove back to the store the store to see what's going where I encountered Tony again. Come to find out my xbox was there and he said they repaired a USB port. Even took it out the box. I got home and plugged it in later that afternoon it still did not work. I went back to look at my paperwork only to be informed the because I didnt have GSP and they did not accept COD that they did not do the repair. I called customer service again and I was told I needed to bring it back in but since Geek Squad was not in my store for a week, so I would have to drive it to a Best Buy further away. My first question is if they knew I didnt have GSP why send it off for 2 weeks. I pay for an Xbox membership which I just lost 2 weeks of plus more trying to figure out what to do. Why tell me it was fixed when it wasn't. He even said at one point I owed $98, but because of my Protection plan I owed nothing. And Best Buys customer service answer is to bring it to a store further way to do the same thing again. Once again if I was just told it you couldn't fix I could have taken it somewhere else. Best Buy needs to invest more money in training the people in the stores where we actually buy the product, and less in call centers overseas.
The response is an example how terrible customer service is with Best Buy they truly do not care . Instead of a number of someone to call directly fix the issue they give you social media contacts which are most likely overseas. I am going to go directly to the store because that is the only way to speak to the people I actual do business with. Im canceling my care plan and will buy my electronics thru Amazon moving forward.
This response is an example how terrible customer service is at Best Buy now. No number to speak to anyone just social media links so they dont have to deal with you. Im going to go back to the store to speak to the people I purchased the product from because that's the only way to contact them. Canceling everything from best buy. Tired of spending hard earned money and not able to speak to people in the country I bought the product from when I have issues
And FYI support team is a call center in India
UPDATE: so I posted to Twitter like the response says, who tells me to call customer service, who tell me to take it to another Best Buy so they can tell me they can't do the work.....kinda of a groundhog day thing. Canceled all memberships there, company care nothing about customers or customer service. Its all about the mighty $

Hello Brad,
Thank you for being a longtime customer and for sharing this detailed feedback. It's disappointing to hear about the confusion and lack of communication you experienced throughout the repair process, from receiving conflicting information about Xbox repairs to the delays, unclear updates, and ultimately learning that the original HDMI issue had not been resolved. We can see why this experience would be frustrating, especially after multiple calls and trips to the store.
Your concerns regarding communication, repair handling, and the time lost while waiting for updates have been noted. Customers should receive clear and accurate information throughout the service process, so they can make informed decisions about their products.
We would like the chance to follow up and ensure this is documented and addressed. Please feel free to reach out to our support teams on social media, so we can better assist you.

The employees are very helpful and the guy who works in the TV area was very knowledgeable and helped me find a good TV for my bedroom!
No geeks today!!! Have to try another day. You cannot call that store whatsoever.
