I should have stuck with Amazon. Went to this location to purchase a xmas gift for my son. Checked out the Xbox S consoles & found one that was $399.99. I checked out the other ones & thought, $399.99 isn’t too bad & put it in my cart. Walked & finally got to check out. Noticed that there were some Pokémon cards at the front registers & the cashier was quick to say, 1 per customer. I stepped to the side to look considering they had no price & decided not to get any. I get back in line & she rings up the xbox & offers a warrantee. I decline & she then gives me the total. I noticed that the total was a bit high so I ask her the price before taxes & she then tells me $449.99. I then tell her it is marked at $399.99 & that there are more of the same item on the shelf. She pulls out her phone to show me the actual price; explained that there was a memory diff. hence $50 more. I tell her that I get that but the tag says $399.99 & she refused to honor the price. She walks away from her reg. to get one listed at $399.99. She did not call for help or even bother looking at the tag. Then says to me that people come into the store all the time switching products around. Saying that was insulting considering that this was not the case. I came in & was trying to make an honest purchase. I see the line getting longer & chose not to argue & bought it. I called cust. Serv. instead to make a complaint. I was told that I could return it & call cust. serv. once again & that they would ship it. I didn’t feel that the rep. understood what I was telling her. I thanked her & later decided to call customer serv. once again. This time I was understood & told to return the item back to the store & speak with a manager to fix in store. I explained that I didn’t live near & he stated that I could fix this matter in store. I drove back 35 min. I get there & speak to a young lady exp. my frustration. She immediately knew where I had even gotten the item from earlier that day. That is their admission to knowing that the item was marked/stocked incorrectly. She starts to show me online prices & telling me that I must have picked up the Xbox series x. I tell her that I did not, the diff. was about $50 & not $100, She calls a MOD. I move over to the side. I tried to remain friendly as I am not argumentative esp. in public. She begins to tell the MOD what happened & relayed something diff. from what I said. I then said no, that is not what I said. Again, expressed my frustration that the item was not honored for the price as marked. Explained the comment that the cashier made about cust. switching items around, even told him that he could watch the camera. I never changed any tags or item placement while shopping. Despite what other people do, I was never dishonest. I told him that I already spoke to cust. Serv. @ the 1800 number, was told to come back & return the item & then speak to an MOD as it is their policy to honor the price. He then told me that he understood the frustration & that he would watch the footage bc he would like to know what cashier did this. However, he couldn’t honor/modify the price. Then said that the number to cust. serv. is a 3rd party & that they are not affiliated with the store. He told me that the best he could do was to find the right item that I wanted, return the one I had purchased, & charge me the difference. Said that had this been said during the time of sale it would have been different. I asked him if his cashiers were not trained to call for help when a situation like this arises to check pricing? He said that there are new hires & that he would speak w/ the cashier who rung me out. BC this was a gift for my son & I had already bought a gift card with my Afterpay account, I was stuck w/ a $400 Best Buy gift card; I paid the diff. I feel like this entire experience was unfair & if there was any doubt pert. my honesty the camera should have been played back to check. Once confirmed, the amount should have been honored. It is not my fault that an error was made on their end. Last time they get my money!
