Very helpful & quick service
The Greensboro Best Buy either has misinformed employees or tbey are just trying to sell you things you don’t need .
So I took my friend (a 80 year old woman who lives in Eden ) to the Best Buy in Greensboro after her TV set stopped working . She looked for about a hour and finally decided on one but apparently they didn’t even have it in stock despite having a display model . The sales people showed her a comparable TV which she thought would be ok . But then they started telling her she would be required to buy a “premium “ HDMI cable for $300 to get a true 4k picture . This is on top of a TV that already costs $900 ! The salesman started talking stuff neither of us really understood so I called my son Michael . He said that sounds fishy . He spoke with the salesman on FaceTime . He told the salesman a $15 4K HDMI cable will do the trick , theres no need for a $300 one . The salesman said it will technically give my friend a picture , but the cheap cable will cause color banding , audio lag and bad HDR performance on a higher end TV . My son said that’s not true , that HDMI is a digital signal so it either works good or it just doesn’t . He told the salesman that the cheaper cable will handle the required bandwidth perfectly to which the salesman then told my friend and I to cut the video and ended the FaceTime without my permission . They told my friend and I that my son is going off “theory” and not facts . They said if I listen to my son , my friend will be choking her new TV’s processing power . They refused to talk to my son again .
Be very careful when shopping there . Have someone who knows things available . Especially if you’re two old ladies .
