I came in for a specific mini-fridge I had found on the website, expecting a simple purchase. Instead, what should have been a quick five-minute transaction turned into a frustrating 15-minute ordeal.
The cashier was clearly new, undertrained, and awkward, needing to radio other staff repeatedly to decipher basic inventory inquiries. She suddenly walked away to assist another customer, leaving me standing there waiting. Once my item was finally scanned, the screen launched into a barrage of pop-up ads, first for an extended warranty, then a store credit card, and finally a charity donation, with the cashier reciting a forced script for every single prompt before I was even allowed to pay.
The only upside to the visit is that the mini-fridges look good. Best Buy's customer experience has degraded significantly, but I don't blame the individual employee, she was visibly trying her best. The fault lies entirely with corporate management for failing to properly hire, train, and support their staff.

I cannot say enough good things about the service we received from Jay at the Geek Squad Morehead City Best Buy! We had a complex technical setup with an iPhone and a medical tracking app that turned out to be a huge hurdle. Jay went above and beyond in every way possible. He was so patient, exceptionally kind, and completely determined to make sure everything was fully configured and working before we left. I understand it's a small store but nevertheless the inventory still seems unreasonably disappointing. The things you choose to stock versus not stock is ridiculous sometimes. I mean for an example you have iPhone 5 cases, but you can't hold current gen Android cases even when you stock the actual phone.... I'll never understand this stocking sometimes 10 generations old crap while failing to maintain the current market. I haven't even seen an iPhone 5 in probably 5 plus years.... It's a 13-year-old phone. And you can't hold stock of an Android case for a phone you sell released within the last year.....
