Best Buy Lebanon

I had an issue with my Omen (HP) laptop computer. The computer was running fine and I had it hooked up to my docking station, left it idle for a few hours, then went to move it to another room, unplugged the power cord and docking station and the computer went to sleep a few minutes later as its supposed to. I got to my other room and my computer would not wake up/start up at all. I did everything possible to resolve this myself and I realized I needed professional help with my computer. Issue was that when I pressed the power button, the light on the button would light up for about 3 seconds and that was it. Computer would not boot or anything even after disconnecting the power cord and unhooking the battery. Nothing worked. And I googled the issue and tried everything under the sun. Nothing worked. I made an appointment with Geek Squad (Best Buy, West Lebanon). They were baffled and they sent it out to be professionally fixed (Kentucky). Kentucky sent it back unrepaired and said since the computer was customized when I ordered it, they couldn't get parts for it. They didn't even try to diagnose what the issue was. NOT EVEN TRY TO DIAGNOSE IT. I got the computer home, I tried again to get it going myself, then out of frustration I was repeatedly hitting the keyboard... power button and button after button like a mad man, then the computer started up. I have no idea of what went wrong or why it would not boot up, I have no idea of what i did to get it to turn on other than pressing every button at random like a mad man. My main disappointment is that Geek Sqaud didnt even try. They were at a lost on how to repair it and just said to take it to another shop that repairs computers. According to HP website, Best Buy is an authorized repair shop for HP computers. They were no help at all. I now know not to go to Best Buy for my computer needs. The only good thing is that they refunded me for the cost of sending it out. If you need computer help, do not go to Best Buy. They are no help. I was also disappointed that I had to make an appointment for everything, even just to pick it back up.

Honestly it wasn't a great experience. It was clean. It was organized. The employees were kind, if a bit oblivious. It's difficult to get assistance. But there was a particular incident there today that will prevent me going there any longer, and I'm not really feeling like this is a big loss, for me or them.
