I give it 1 star for the nice customer service I received from everyone but what I had to go through was ridiculous. I had an online order that I never picked up. A month later, I finally noticed that my order never refunded so I logged in and saw that even though I never picked it up, it was claimed as picked up.
I'm not sure how they applied that status when you need a code, was beyond me. Maybe an override feature that they could do?
Anyways, I tried chatting Best Buy and the associate couldn't refund me or do anything about it. He said I had to go to the store.
I go to the store, this was 40 min before they closed. I told the cashier about my situation and he said it was weird because it should automatically cancel and refund me. He pulls another associate in and she just shakes her head and made it seem like she didn't really believe me.
This order was $9.
This isn't a $100 order where it would feel sketchy. This order is cheaper than the $10 free gift certificate Best Buy gives out...so...why is this such a big deal...? She grabs her list of pick ups and sees my item? (She wasn't saying much at all.) She then go over to a manager that was infront of the entrance and they start talking. They get on the comp and I see after 15 min that they're watching the computer. At this point, I realize they're looking at camera footage. What was the point of this? They don't know what car I have and you can't see the driver anyways if I did curbside. I also had my Google timeline pulled up on my phone to show that I was never here.
I had a couple associates come by to say thanks for waiting and that they were looking at footage. I look over and there's 5 people looking at the cameras. 5 people standing there for about 25 min to see if I picked up a $9 item? How much do you pay these workers? $12/hr minimum? So your store just wasted $6 for each employee to stand there for half an hour, $6 x 5 employees=$30, to look at cameras for a $9 item. Then add on that they had to still clean up to close. I didn't leave until 8:10. So now you're paying people to stay behind to try to help close the store because you wasted time watching cameras?
They ended up giving me my item, in which they never even asked whether I wanted the item or just wanted a refund. I walked out with my $9 item that costs less than a free $10 gift certificate, cost $30 in wages, and a bit of money for my gas. I was so drained by the end of this situation.
The real cost was my time, mental and emotional stress because of how ridiculous this was. It's so ridiculous that other people almost couldn't believe me. Something that I thought would be a quick drive over from work, turned into regret. I question the integrity of whoever stamped my order as picked up and the manager of thinking they had to do all this for a $9 item.
