The Best Buy down in Albany is selling $2,000 TVs without the remote and then giving you the run around.
I recently bought an Open Box - Excellent Condition 77" Samsung TV for pickup at Best Buy in Albany. It's supposed to come with all original parts and accessories (per the website description). After the store reps were done packing it up I asked if the remote control was with it, to which they responded yes. Upon getting home and opening the package there was no remote control with the TV. I called the store number listed on google, but Best Buy has a new policy where you can not speak to the local store directly over the phone. You will automatically be routed to the service center who will say the issue is the local store's responsibility yet also refuse to connect you in with the local store to talk to. They will tell you to drive BACK to the store instead of allowing a direct phone call. So, I drive 30 minutes back to the store to ask for the Remote Control - to which the department manager Katie informs me that they are not obligated to give me one. Even after I show her on the website that it's meant to be included, she tells me no that's wrong. She then condescendingly offered me a Samsung Soundbar remote and guaranteed it would work with the TV. Update: It does not work with the TV.
So long story short, the Best Buy down in Albany is selling $2,000 TVs without the remote and then giving you the run around.
