Today, when visiting Bestbuy - which is one of my favorite stores - I was directed to the front desk to buy a Fire TV Cube by the nice smiley girl at the door. The kid behind the counter told me they had no fire TV cubes left back there and directed my to the TV area.
After walking to the TV area, I tried to talk to Edward A (apparently a manager), but before I could get a word out edgewise he gruffly told me I needed to go back to the front and give them my name and get a number before he would help me. I told him I just came from there, but he didn't care - he wanted me to walk back to the front desk. Clearly, Ed was having a bad day and just wanted to get rid of me - so before he could walk away I blerted out that I just needed a fire TV Cube. So he quickly pointed at a couple of areas and ran away.
I find Ed's behavior to be rude and unprofessional. Employees should find out what customers actually want before attempting to blow them off. It's a shame actually, because I love this store. I would love to be giving them a glowing review right now. But at the moment I'm hoping that Ed trips on the curb on the way out to his car and loses a tooth or something.
Bestbuy, you can do better.
Welcomed when I walked into the store. Joel was honest, kind and helpful.
