I went to Best Buy Brookpark on 4/24 to inquire about a radio upgrade for a 2016 vehicle I planned to gift to my niece in Florida. An associate recommended a specific radio and installation package for my exact make/model and assured me it was compatible. I then ordered it through the Best Buy website on 4/26, where I again entered the vehicle information to confirm compatibility.
On 5/6, my mother took the vehicle in for the scheduled installation. A few hours before the appointment, the store called asking her to come earlier because she was the last appointment and they “wanted to leave.” She accommodated their request.
At the appointment, she was suddenly told the radio we were specifically advised to purchase was not compatible, despite both the associate and website confirming otherwise. They installed a different radio instead — one with LESS functionality than the original model but told her it was “better.” The original radio supported Bluetooth Apple CarPlay, while the replacement requires an outdated wired USB connection.
When we later realized the issue, we attempted to contact the store to speak with the technician and were told, “they don’t receive calls, they only make calls.” We then asked for a manager and received the exact same response. We left our contact information and never received a call back.
Now, after the car finally arrived in Florida for my niece on 5/22, we discovered the Apple CarPlay feature doesn’t work at all.
What was supposed to be a thoughtful gift for my niece turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience involving incorrect recommendations, poor communication, lack of accountability, and a non-functioning installation. Extremely disappointed with the customer service and overall experience.
I didn't know anybody worked there. Had to hunt someone down since NOONE was in any dedicated sales area, they were all clustered together up front being all buddy buddy with each other instead of doing their job. Then when I did find someone, they had to find someone who even worked in that dept. It's not just best buy, it's everywhere. These kids are a pandemic. Zero stars
Nice outlet store. Got a washing machine for $305.
