I've made 2 recent trips to Best Buy Mansfield Oh, purchased items both times. I don't expect red carpet treatment, but really any acknowledgement would be something compared to these experiences.
Trip 1: Small TV for my mom. When we arrived at the store, employees were out front, I'm assuming they were on break. There was no stock on the shelf. After waiting 10-15 and seeing no available employees, I went up and asked the cashier for help. She called someone. After 10 minutes, I went and asked again, and she called again. The 3 outside employees came in together, chatting and joking. One guy came over still talking over his shoulder to the others. I asked him about the TV we were interested in, he grabbed the box, as he walked by he said 'it will be up front'. Then he went back to his conversation with the others. It was obvious where his attention was and was not.
Trip 2: Toaster oven. I ordered on-line for pickup. Went in and there was an employee at the check out. He was leaning against the wall scrolling on his phone. I waited a few minutes, it might have been work related. When he still didn't look up, I interrupted him and asked if this was where I picked up my order. At that point, he did lay the phone down and finish the transaction.
It's fantastic having the Best Buy local to me.
Best buy is truly going down hill. I just walked around to find the shelves are either empty or just have 1 or 2 of each item. Everything is practically display and they can order it for you. I can do that on the app or find a cheaper source, defeats the purpose on why I physically went into the store.
Geek Squad were VERY kind and helpful.
