love Best Buy. Most of our home appliances are from there, and we’ve always had a great experience. The quality is excellent, the staff is helpful, and their protection plans give real peace of mind. It’s one of the few stores where I feel confident buying appliances.

I recently brought my laptop to Geek Squad at Best Buy to have the hard drive upgraded to an SSD. At first, everything seemed to go smoothly. The paperwork was completed and I was called back for a small issue regarding switching to a different SSD card, which I agreed to. When I picked up the laptop, it appeared to be functioning well and the upgrade itself seems to be working properly. However, after I got home and looked more closely, I noticed physical damage on the side of my laptop that was not there before the repair. When I brought this up, I was told that it was “old wear and tear” and that it may have happened when the laptop was opened. This explanation was concerning because the damage was noticeable and had not been present before. In addition, I discovered that some of the screws from the laptop were missing. My laptop originally had screws in all of the proper places. When I asked about this, I was told that the screws were not missing. I even asked if I could simply be given replacement screws so I could fix the issue myself, but initially that request was denied. Eventually, a couple of screws were found and given to me, which helped somewhat, but the laptop is still not the same as when I brought it in. While the SSD upgrade itself appears to be working, the physical condition of my laptop after the repair was disappointing. This was my first time upgrading a laptop and my first experience with Geek Squad. Unfortunately, because of this experience, it will likely be my last time trusting someone else to repair my electronics. I wanted to bring this situation to your attention and hope it can be reviewed.

My wife recently went in for help with a computer issue, and she said the employee who assisted her was extremely rude and made her feel dumb for asking questions. She mentioned his name tag said Cameron This type of treatment toward customers is not acceptable. I will be contacting corporate regarding this situation.
