Best Buy Quakertown

My TV died late yesterday evening. Totally unexpected. Knew I wanted a 55” OLED so I headed here to pick one out. I should’ve done more research but this was kind of an emergency buy since I wouldn’t have time to go this week. First all the good: nice selection. Very friendly staff. Helped get the tv I bought into the car. They are pressured to upsell but were cool when I rejected most of it. Now the not so good: unfortunately, some of what they told me about this tv was wrong - most specifically about how to mount or stand it up. I have an existing wall mount but they said it wouldn’t work as these TVs have a 40x40 instead of 80x80. Looking at the back of the floor model, I could see that was correct. I didn’t want to commit to another probably $200+ upsell of a new wall mount at the moment, so I asked if the stand the floor model was on came with it (super basic centered stand). I was assured it did. Came home and - oof - no stand. Not only that, this is a model that uses a very specific wall mount (flush against the wall) and THE HARDWARE WAS IN THE BOX! No additional purchase needed! On top of that, the template with the tv was very wrong in its measurements and I need to now take the whole thing down and remount so it’s centered right on my wall (that’s more a product issue than BB fault). Bottom line: know what you want. Do your research. Don’t panic buy. Don’t trust the guys there to give you good information. My simple TV setup and purchase could’ve been unnecessarily more expensive and it wasn’t simple at all. I would’ve expected the sales guys to know this model was “G for Gallery” and included a flush wall mount.
