I want to share the disappointing experience my son had at the Best Buy in Summerville, SC, store number 1428, while trying to purchase a Christmas gift for me. My son called the Best Buy customer service sales line to order a 75-inch Insignia TV. The representative assured him that she was familiar with the store’s inventory and recommended a 75-inch open-box TV in “excellent condition” for $310. Because he has purchased open-box items from Best Buy before and had great results, he trusted the recommendation. He even asked several times whether the TV would come in a box, and each time the representative confirmed that it would. He paid for the TV and arranged for someone to pick it up on the evening of November 30, 2025. When the TV arrived, there was no box at all just bubble wrap. There was no remote, the barcode had been scratched off, the cord was damaged, and the screen itself had a dent. This is nowhere near “excellent condition.” Instead of enjoying the holidays, we had to spend time arranging to take the TV back to the store. When we went to the Summerville location, the manager, Jionne, seemed annoyed before we even finished explaining what happened. The interaction felt rushed, dismissive, and honestly rude. We ultimately asked for a refund because the entire experience was so disappointing. My son has always relied on Best Buy for electronics, and I have as well. It used to feel dependable, you knew what you were getting. But after this experience, it no longer feels like the store that once prided itself on customer service and doing right by its customers. If you are looking for a place that values customer satisfaction and stands behind the products they sell, this visit did not reflect that. A Christmas gift turned into a frustrating errand, and that is truly unfortunate.

It is always fun to visit Best Buy to look at all the newest computers, TVs, and other electronics. There is usually a good supply of various models.

Went to buy a tv, took 30 mins to get help in an almost empty store. Turns out the tv was broke and when I tried to return it 2 days later they said they were not accepting returns that day to come back the next day. Customer service at this store is some of the worst I have ever seen.
