CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DEAD.
I went to Best Buy in Pasadena specifically to purchase the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses. I explained to the employee exactly what I needed them for: displaying notes or scripts for PowerPoint presentations so I wouldn’t have to look down during work presentations. I told her I did not care about music, photos, or video — just the ability to see notes.
She assured me the glasses could do that and said, “Just go to the app.” The Pasadena store didn’t have the blue pair I wanted, so they took my payment and sent me to the Baytown location.
Before taking them there, I asked again if the glasses could do what I needed. Again, I was told yes.
Well guess what — they can’t. The glasses don’t have a display screen.
I returned them the same day after wasting my time, gas, and energy driving between two stores.
DO BETTER, BEST BUY. Train your staff.
Over 25 years ago when I worked at Radio Shack in college, we were required to know the products before we were allowed on the sales floor. Customers deserve that same level of service today.
