I took my iPhone to Best Buy on September 28 for a battery and back glass replacement ($268). During the repair, the technician damaged an internal wire and admitted it couldn’t be fixed. I was told I’d get a replacement internal assembly — basically a new phone on the inside — in 1–2 days.
Instead, I waited almost a month. Every time I checked in, I was told Apple hadn’t approved the work order, leaving me with a half-working phone that I had to baby just to use. At one point, they even said the part had arrived, then later backtracked.
When the new phone finally came in on October 22, Best Buy refused to let me take both phones home to transfer data. My husband spent two hours in the store charging and updating the new phone, only to be told the transfer would take another four hours — and staff made him feel rushed the entire time.
After everything, I’ve had to spend five more hours at home restoring from iCloud, re-downloading every app, re-logging into accounts, and fixing my settings. No apology, no compensation, just wasted time and frustration.
This was very poorly handled from start to finish.
