I tried returning a couple of items but was told the serial numbers on my receipt didn’t match the items by numerous associates at the register over what felt like an hour. I provided proof of the return instructions on my email that included the barcode.
Apparently the serial number provided for best buy online purchases is not the same as for in store purchases. I was told I’d have to request a return label, print, package them and mail it back for a return (that can take 30 days). They refused to even call best buy’s online team to confirm the discrepancy in serial numbers. I went to a neighboring store and they were able to
1) verify the items
2) scan my return barcode on my email and
3) accept the return for both items in minutes with a manager’s assistance.
The worst customer service experience I’ve had in quite some time.
Wanted to buy a laptop, asked for someone to help and one lady said someone would come to assist, waited for 20 minutes no staff came and had to leave when I gave my feedback to the lady at the door she didn’t seem to be interested.

I can’t thank Saadia enough for the incredible support she has shown me. Moving to the USA three months ago to start my master’s in computer science was both exciting and overwhelming, and adjusting to a new place hasn’t been easy. But meeting Saadia truly made a difference. Her warmth and patience made me feel welcomed and supported in ways I never expected from a simple store visit. She helped me with everything—my new phone, my laptop, and even setting up my Best Buy membership—like I was a friend, not just a customer. I’m so grateful to Saadia for going out of her way to make me feel comfortable and at home in a foreign environment. She has been such a blessing, and I’ll never forget her kindness.
