A hostile shopping experience. Best Buy, like Walmart, seems to dislike and distrust its customers.
This is isn’t a store, it’s a highly secure exhibition space. Everything is bolted down and heavily surveilled.
I wanted to test out a Nikon Zf - it’s fine that it’s tied to the table, but it doesn’t turn on. It seemed like power was turned off for the entire Nikon table, in fact. The camera was filthy.
I set it back down and started to walk away. The alarm started screaming.
I went to the Sony table to mess with the A7IV - the camera was also filthy, also didn’t power on, and also started screaming as soon as I set it down.
In-store associates mainly just chat with each other. No one offered to help out - it seems like their only job is to disable the product alarms every few minutes.
I’d rather drive to New York, test the cameras in B&H, and drive back to Richmond rather than enter a Best Buy again.
Had a very frustrating experience at this location. Would not replace a defective product and caused more damage to it for “testing purposes.” I do not recommend shopping at this location and suggest going to the Best Buy on Brook Road.

All things tech. They have your back. I don't need them but when I need something done that I don't FEEL like doing, I trust their professionalism and strive for perfection in their work.
