An employee at this location proceeded with a credit card application without my authorization, despite the fact that I already had an active Best Buy credit card. I was told my SSN would be used only to locate my existing account, which later proved to be inaccurate. When I returned to the store to address the issue, I spoke only with the store manager, Jeffrey. His response was dismissive and unprofessional. He refused to provide basic information, showed no interest in listening to the concern, and offered no assistance or escalation options. The lack of courtesy and accountability at the management level was disappointing. Based on this interaction, I would strongly advise caution when dealing with credit-related matters at this location.

This experience was not merely poor customer service, but a shocking case of employee fraud and misuse of my Social Security Number (SSN) for an unauthorized credit card application; despite repeatedly telling the employee at least five times that I did not want a new card to protect my credit score, he insisted on using my SSN for an account lookup, then fraudulently submitted an application, resulting in a new card and a hard credit inquiry a week later. To address this serious breach of trust, I returned to the store and spoke with supervisor Jeffery, who was extremely rude, initially blaming me by stating "it's your fault," and then abruptly cutting off the conversation by saying, "sorry I have to work and I can't talk to you anymore." When I asked for his District Manager's contact information, he unprofessionaly responded with a smile, showing a complete lack of concern or professionalism in the face of a customer reporting credit fraud, cementing this entire experience as a massive failure of ethics and management deserving of a zero-star rating.
