Been coming to Best Buy for decades, last two purchases within last couple of months. I was not asked to input my phone number for either which allows the purchase to be connected with one's phone number, if receipt is lost no problem.
Best Buys's new strategy, customer loses receipt no returnsallowed. Unraveling just like everything else these days!!
The first purchase was a laptop, I called him on it, I said, hey you didn't ask me for my phone number.He goes oh no problem, so he refunded the first purchase and recharged me so that my purchase could be connected with my phone number. However, it tied up the dollar amount of 2 laptops over the course of an entire weekend. I had no money for food all weekend!!!

Those guys are really good helping me purchase the items I want
Bad return policy. My son bought me a small appliance for Christmas from Best Buy. I had the receipt but it was past the 30-day return window. The guy said if I wanted to sign up (and pay for) for the Best Buy Pro membership, then I would have 60 days to return it and I was still in that window. No I don't want to pay for a membership to simply return something. The real kicker is that he wouldn't even give me a store credit. I had the receipt, mind you. Bad business.
