Manager Jack and a retail associate claimed that refusing to honor the warranty has always been their store's policy. However, they know this is not true, as this has not always been the policy at this location.
When they pulled up my account, they were able to see my purchase history, which clearly showed that the warranty had previously been honored for replacement lens protectors. Despite having that information in front of them, they chose not to honor the warranty on an item that was purchased from their store.
The inconsistency between their past practices and how they handled my visit was disappointing. Customers should be able to rely on warranties being applied consistently, especially when their own records confirm prior coverage.
I’m a Total member at Best Buy, have been for years. I purchased my iPhone at Best Buy four years ago. Yesterday my screen went blank? Siri still works and the phone still charges but I can’t see anything. I had all my passwords and my Apple ID and ICloud on my iPhone. Unfortunately, I do not remember my Apple ID password because I had it saved on my phone. Therefore, I have no way of getting into my account because I don’t remember my Apple ID. Today I purchased $1000 iPhone from Best Buy. The helpful man that rang me up told me I could go to Geek Squad and they would help me retrieve my data. After waiting two hours for my appointment, I was refused service!! Yes, I was visibly upset and wanted some answers. Instead of getting someone understanding of the situation and eager to help, I was greeted with a man that looked as though he hated his job. Before even hearing my situation, he told me that the likelihood of me retrieving my data was very slim. He spoke with a sharp tone and wanted to hurry me out. I told him after spending $1000 on the iPhone and being a total member I expected better customer service! He then refused me service. I thought it was incredibly funny that he was able to refuse me service when I pay in for this service every year. I have canceled my total membership and will no longer be going to geek squad.
They didn't have what I wanted. But they were very helpful on where to go to find my product.
