Saw a great deal on a TV marked "Open Box - Excellent" online, so ordered it for store pickup despite it being a 45 minute drive. When I got there, the TV was in pretty rough condition and had no remote. The BB employee explained to me that open box TVs sometimes don't come with all the pieces. But this TV was marked "excellent", and a TV with no remote and no physical buttons is not particularly useful. He didn't make an effort to go find the remote, so I had to return the TV before I even left the store. After struggling for a while to process the return, he had to call another employee over. That employee also tried to convince me to keep the TV (had to explain the no remote/no buttons thing again) before finally giving me my money back.
It wasn't long ago I could go to Best Buy when I had an actual problem or needed advice on a purchase. Now when I go there I have to explain to them how buttons work.
A gentleman named John in the computers area was FANTASTIC. He heard what I wanted, didn't judge my sporadic knowledge and met me where I was with recommendations and solid reasoning behind them. The other associates also made positive comments on the 16" Asus ProArt I ended up landing on and I have to say I'm more than pleasantly pleased so far! Shout out to John for not making this gal feel pressured to buy and instead feeling confident and secure in my final decision!
A little pricey but they went out of there way to help me
