My visit to the Menomonee Falls Best Buy today was the last straw supporting Best Buy as a company. I encourage any Best Buy management to look up my account and check out how much money I have spent with you in the last 10 years. I was talked into purchasing an expensive screen protector when I bought bought my Samsung S25. What sold me on it was it had a lifetime warranty and I was told if it ever breaks I just need to bring it in and they will install a new one at no cost to me.
I entered the store and was directed to the geek squad desk and told they could go find the screen I needed. Geek Squad desk guy just seemed angry for some reason before I even approached the desk. I get up there and was instructed to go get the protector I needed myself and then come back. I come back, wait in line again, and this guy is upset with me that I brought the wrong one up to the desk. He storms off, storms back empty handed, starts aggressively typing, hits enter then a big smile, guy is suddenly pumped. He tells me Best Buy no longer sells that protector and good luck trying to call the manufacturer because they never respond. I'm still cool and collective but starting to become frustrated and a little confused with his behavior. I asked if he would give me a discount on a new one and he said no go bud, we warrant them but we have to have them in stock. I said I bought the phone 8 months ago and he just smiles back and is just loving every minute of our interaction. Karen gets the better of me and I ask to speak to a manager. I have seen behavior like this before but never from anyone in customer service. He replies back " I am the store manager". I turn around and start walking out and I ask the greeter if there are any other store managers, she laughs and whispers "he's not the manager" yes, let me call her up. I waited again while he told her whatever story he thought would be less damaging towards him and whatever would make me someone we should try to have some fun with.
My conversation with the store manager started pleasant and she talked me into just buying another screen protector but one that was only $40 this time. I agreed and signed the screen to verify who I was, was about to put in my card to pay and I asked for the Geek Squad managers name. She said she didn't know his name and asked why I wanted to know. I said I think I'm going to write a review about my experience in the store today and that's the moment her smile turned to anger. She said, "you know what, I'm not going to sell you a screen protector". I almost lost my mind right then and there! She said why would I sell you anything from my store when your going to leave us a bad review. At that point I had enough in the twilight zone. The culture in that store is like nothing I have ever seen, it just felt toxic and I left feeling horrible about the interactions I just experienced. I entered the store pumped I was finally able to make the hour drive to best buy to get my new screen protector and left knowing I will never spend a dollar with Best Buy ever again.
Animals will cared for. Dedicated staff.
Just an awesome dining experience!
I wish I could give a 0. I work from home. My hp laptop, not even a year old, just stopped working/wouldn't turn on. I sent it in through the geek squad. No support whatsoever while you're out of your laptop. They should definitely provide a loaner, especially since its within the warranty time period. Absolutely disgusting. Got hung up on by customer service after 15 seconds. Real classy best buy. I love how you stand behind your product and your clientele.
